What a 2 weeks!!!

We have had such a blast these past two weeks and have been able to pack them full of fun activities. We have had several visitors and Tyler has enjoyed getting to know all of his family members and new friends. We have gone for several walks to area parks, ventured out to the grocery store a few times and went shopping for a baby shower gift for his soon to be buddy Sophie. We were also able to squeeze in a 3 hour photo shoot to take some newborn photos of Tyler which turned out fabulous! We can hardly wait to place our order so that we can share the photos with everyone!

Tyler is still a wonderful baby and he and Mommy sleep in every morning...he certainly does know how to please his Mom already. He is eating well and we will find out when we head back to the Pediatrician on Thursday how much weight he has put on. He is already an active little boy so Dad already has plans for his workout regimine when he gets a little bigger!! ;)

Grandpa Garber - he is sooo comfy!

Grandma Garber - My first trip to West Alexandria - Grandma was so excited for my visit!

Cousin Colin came to visit me but he was mostly interested in the garage and the tractor inside.

Uncle Dave and Cousin Benjamin came to visit on my birthday! 'B' couldn't wait to "touch" me. Cousin Christopher - he will have a lot to teach me.

Gammy Fallat - she loves to tell me stories.

Cousin Taylor - she didn't want to let anybody else hold me. Cousin Elie - has had lots of practice being a mommy to her "baby".

Soon to be Uncle Matt (?!?!?) We hope anyway! Uncle Jeff - stop pinching me!
Aunt Gretchen - I need some cousins on this side of the family!! ;)
Aunt Andrea - already spoiling me - I like her!! :)
My First walk in my stroller at the Blue Ash Rec Center Chillin' in my swing!Whew, all of this activity...time for a snooze!

Tyler James is Here!!!!!

Tyler James Fallat was born on July 8th at 2:38pm weighing in at 7lbs 70z and was 20 inches long. He is just perfect and Mommy and Daddy are thrilled with the newest addition to the family.

After two disappointing doctor's visits where they told us that no progress had been made and that "Late July would be a normal time frame for the baby to arrive" we went into the weekend still saying that Tyler would be arriving on the 7th! Mommy was very determined to have him this weekend. Friday night we went for about a 1 1/2 mile walk into our town square where they have concerts and we grabbed a bite to eat and some Dairy Queen and headed home. Total distance logged Friday, 3 1/2 miles.

Saturday morning when we woke up Daddy went for an 8 mile run and when he got back, Mommy felt like going for another walk. This time we visited a local bike trail (Loveland Bike Trail) and walked a total of 3 miles and then got a Hawaiian Shaved Ice to cool off as it was VERY hot! On the way home we picked up a couple of movies and some McDonalds (which may have started labor ;) ) to settle in for the night. While in the middle of our movie Saturday evening my water broke (8:15pm) and we started heading for the hospital. We got checked in about 9:30 and were told that there was no way I was leaving without a baby but it was going to be a long process. We were told I was only 1/4 cm dialated, 30% effaced with no consistent contractions. By about 1:00 am after some meds to help start labor I was having contractions every 2 -3 minutes apart. Approximately 7 hours later, I asked for an epidural and was able to get some much needed rest. By noon I had reached about 7cm and by 1:15 pm I began to push.

Tyler, although already obedient to Mom and Dad by coming on the weekend we asked him to, didn't make it too easy for Mom. He was in the head down position but was slightly rotated away from proper alignment. The doctor informed us that if I wasn't making enough progress when I began to push, he would be performing a C-section. With a lot of prayer and sheer determination, we avoided a C-section and Tyler entered the world at 2:38pm. Record time for his positioning according to the nurses afterwards.

Since that time we have had several visitors and lots of help!! Thank you everyone for all of your love and support.

Tyler is a very calm, easy going baby and we are enjoying every moment with him. Sorry for the novel, but now here comes the good stuff - pictures! We will do our best to keep this site updated so check back often!

All our love,

Nick, Lauren and Tyler

Closing In...

As we get closer and closer to the due date, I thought it was about time to set up a page where we can post pictures of the newest addition to our family. At this point we are both ready to meet our little boy and see his handsome face. We are looking forward to introducing him to the world and sharing in all of the fun memories that comes with it....it won't be long now!!!
