Sydney began eating solids at the end of February. So far she loves bananas, applesauce, sweetpotatoes, pears, and peaches. She continues to grow at a healthy pace and is working hard on adding rolls to her arms and thighs! :) At her 4 month check up she weighed 16lbs 2oz and was 25.5 inches long.

She is also sitting up now in the tripod position for good chunks of time adding a whole new perspective to her world. She now knows what her toes taste like! :)

Tyler loves to shoot "bad robots" with his Nerf bullet gun. We got a little silly this evening and became the "target"!

Tyler helping to shovel the remnants of snow from all of our snow storms in February. Where was he when it was freezing outside and we had to shovel the driveway4-5 times in a 1 week period??!

CYCLONES Game:

Bean & Matt invited us to join them at a Cyclones game. We had such a blast & Tyler LOVED watching all of the action. In his first game we saw a fight and a Cyclones shoot out win.

Sydney Nicole was born on 10/31 at 4:34pm at 7lbs 8oz and 20.5 inches. Consistent with family tradition so far, Sydney seemed perfectly content to remain where she was at all the way up to her due date. After several doctor's appointments where no progress was being shown towards Sydney's delivery we began to anticipate a late arrival.

We were pretty low key Friday evening (Sydney's due date - 10/30) and settled in for the night with a couple of milk shakes and of course a sundae for Tyler. Despite being exhausted Tyler fought going to bed so Mama went in and rocked him for a bit (anyone knowing Tyler knows that he NEVER allows this to happen), when I went to lay him down in bed he asked me to lay down with him. After a few minutes of laying quietly in the dark, he pushed on my belly and repeated "Baby Sister" a few times and fell asleep. This, too, was quite unusual as he never talked about his sister coming without prompting from Mama or Daddy. I am convinced that he knew she would be arriving shortly. A few hours later, labor began and Tyler was at Aunt Gretchen & Uncle Jeff's and Mama and Daddy were in the hospital by 7am.

We were admitted to the hospital and labor remained pretty erratic throughout the day but around 4:00 it was time to begin pushing. Sydney needed a bit of assistance arriving into the world as her umbilical cord was wrapped around her neck causing her heart rate to drop at times. And at 4:34pm our beautiful, healthy, happy, and peaceful little girl arrived in our arms!

Sydney has such a sweet personality so far and loves being around all of the visitors that have come to see us. So far she is a snuggler which Daddy and I spoke about her before she arrived. We are enjoying every minute with her.

Due to our hospital policy in the midst of all of this "flu scare" children under the age of 14 were not allowed to visit us at the hospital, including siblings of the newborn babies. I was pretty disappointed to not be able to have Tyler come up and visit us and meet his sister at the hospital. We checked out of the hospital literally 24 hours after having Sydney and Tyler got to meet his baby sister at home.

Tyler spent a couple of days up at Grandma and Papa's house and Mama and Daddy enjoyed a quiet house and some bonding time with Sydney. He arrived home on Wednesday morning and within 10 minutes of his arrival I had my introduction of being a Mom of 2. Two dirty diapers to change back to back...and we haven't stopped since! ;)

Tyler has been a very loving and protective big brother so far. He always comes running to check on Sydney if she is crying and tells me to "pick her up" if she is laying in her crib. He loves playing with her fingers, petting her hair and "beeping" her nose. He helps with her bottles, finding her pacifiers, and likes to hold her for little chunks of time. We are working on the "gentle" aspect of this love, but overall he is doing a great job and being a big helper. I am still holding out that being a big brother will now help him be interested in potty training...but so far it is still just a dream.

Life this past week has been full, but we are loving every minute of being a family of 4. Now for some pics! :)

We went with Gammy, Grandpa, and all of my cousins to the Blue Ash Harvest festival. We had such a good time. Ben and Chris got to throw tomahawks, shoot bows and arrows, and fire a sling shot...I can't wait until I am big enough to do that!

Daddy started a new job and had to go to South Bend for 2 weeks for training so Mama and I went to Grandma and Papa's house for a couple of days to get a break. Here I am playing in the Jungle...my new favorite place at Grandma and Papa's house. I love to find sticks, pull leaves, and spy on people from inside trees.

The Great Race!

Lady Distance Classic:

Gammy, Mama, and Aunt Gretch all competed in a local 10k walk over the weekend. It was a beautiful morning. Once they were finished, I got to run in my very first race. Getting in some good practice for the future.

About 1 mile of the 6.2 to go....I did not like that I kept seeing Mama and she just ignored me and kept right on walking.

Mama and Gretch just after they finished their race. 1hr 32min for 6.2miles...not too bad but only good enough for each of them to get 4th place in their age groups. They have loftier goals for next year!! ;)

Trip to Massachusetts:

We headed out East to surprise GG for her 80th birthday. Family and friends flew in from all over the country to surprise her and boy was she surprised. We drove out Thursday evening and arrived at 7:15am. Tyler was such a trooper in the car and he slept through the entire night. Once we arrived we had non-stop action. Below are some pictures of our adventures.

The Beach!:

My first time at the beach. I ran right down to the water, but I wasn't too sure about the waves. I mostly stood on the edge and threw rocks in the water.

Until Mommy showed me how to jump over the waves. Then I loved to walk into the ocean up to my chin and swim back to shore with the waves. I can't wait to get back to the beach and play some more.

Since it was the end of the day, we got to sit in the lifeguard's chair. It was very tall and I am glad Patrick sat with me! :)

We had to get some yummy ice cream after such a wonderful day!

I loved my trip back to Massachusetts. Mama says next time we go back I will have a Baby Sister with me. I will be sure to show her the ropes and tell her all about the fun things to do while we are there!

2nd Birthday Party:

We were blessed to be able to host Tyler's 2nd birthday party at Angela and John's home. They offered us use of the pool in their backyard while they were out of town. We definitely missed them but had a great time with all of the family that was able to attend.

I liked opening my presents this year. I got lots of fun stuff and wanted to play with everything I opened. I said thank you to each person as I opened my presents which made Mommy very happy. Thanks for all of my fun new stuff everyone! :)My baseball cake!! YUMMY!

I just wanted Mom to stop messing around and let me dig into that cake...

...instead she made everybody sing to me. I did not like all of that attention and hid my face until they were done.Still waiting for that cake and ice cream Mom!

It wasn't too crowded that night so I had plenty of room to move around. I got to see the Reds hit 3 home runs and watch the celebration fireworks for each. I liked the boom, boom, boom sound...it sounded just like thunder.

Mom & Dad and Tiara's parents (Bryan & Airi) supervised a date for us to Dairy Queen for some ice cream.

I had a nice, messy chocolate cone.

Tiara shared a waffle bowl sundae with her Mom. I thought, being the gentleman that I am, that she might enjoy a chocolate cone too.

She, of course, said yes.

Blue Ash Rec Center:

We headed to the Blue Ash Rec Center for its grand opening of the season. It was such a perfect day for the pool and we had a blast.

So, I know this update is LONG overdue, but with a combination of a Mom slacking on taking pictures with the combination of a computer crashing, I do have an excuse...maybe?!? ;) Enjoy the pictures going way back to Easter!!

Easter at Grandma and Papa's House:

Coloring eggs...I really just wanted to eat them, but I obliged to coloring them for Grandma and Mom's entertainment.

We were excited to take Danielle and Makayla with us for Makayla's 1st trip to the zoo. We are sure that we will have many fun times in the future checking out all of the funny animals.

We were invited by Bryan and Airi over to their house for dinner. Airi made a fantastic meal and we had so much fun hanging out with Bryan, Airi, Jeff, and Danielle. The kids had a blast too! Tyler and Tiara played so well together, and Makayla hung out watching all of the action waiting for the day she will be able to run around with her best buddies! What a blessing it is to have such wonderful friends!

Tiara is such a good friend, she knows just how to lift me up when I need it!

We liked playing peek-a-boo together, that giant leaf made a great place to hide.

Getting ready to head home. I had so much fun that I wanted to stay and play together some more!

I have really started to love to play sports. Right now playing basketball and baseball are my favorites. Papa set up a tee for me in his yard and I like to hit baseballs when I visit. He is teaching me how to bat like a professional. Here is a video of me practicing a bit. Since this time, I have really started to enjoy batting lefty and Daddy says I have a pretty good left handed swing...it is looking better than my right handed swing at this point. Papa is just a little excited about this!! ;)

I think I would have had more fun if Mommy would have let me run around by myself more, but she said it was too crowded. Thanks Katie and Claire for taking us to the aquarium.

What a Big Boy!

Ok, so in the past few weeks, my baby is turning into a boy right in front of my very eyes! His vocabulary is growing at leaps and bounds, he is starting to string words together, he has really taken to his alphabet and can identify and pick out about 8-10 letters already. So, all of this I could handle...I was amazed, but knew it would be coming. Well, today he totally surprised me! I laid him down as usually for his nap and like in days past I could hear him in his crib playing. Nick and I were sitting in the other room when we heard a thump and the door knob jiggling. Uh oh! Next we hear some knocks on the door and a little voice yelling: "Mama! Mama!" Yep, my little "baby" climbed out of his crib! Nick and I went into his room and I placed him back in his crib just to see it with my very own eyes...sure enough, out he came!! Shortly after, I transitioned his crib into a toddler bed. After an entire day without a nap, I placed Tyler in his room around 4:00pm and shut the door. He played in there for quite a bit of time and after about 20 minutes of quietness, I went in to check on him. This is what I found:

I finally got tired of fighting sleep and decided to lay down on this comfy pillow.

Ahh, sleep is so nice.

After Mommy came in to tuck me in!

(On a side note, as I was typing this...my baby woke up from his nap, walked out of his cracked open door and said "Mama. Daddy!" Then he went straight to the refrigerator to play with his letter magnets! Nick and I both cracked up laughing!! )

I love my bat and ball. Daddy has been teaching me how to swing the bat. It is a lot of fun.

After the Thanksgiving Day Race. I did not have a good time - I was too tired to sit in that stroller Mommy tried to push me in, so Mommy and I stopped early to get some food. Daddy ran his best time ever, I was happy to see him at the end! :)

Aunt Bean came over to try and get a cute Christmas card picture for Mommy and Daddy...I had too many other things to attend to to just sit there and smile. They just didn't understand!!

Tyler has been talking up a storm lately. He is really starting to "parrot" any words that we say and we enjoy teaching him new tricks. He likes to help bring "yucky" items to the garbage can and put them in. Aunt Gretch and Aunt Bean thought this new trick came in handy too! :)

A few of the words he now says: baby, Nini (the name of a chinese doll Gretchen brought home for him), doggy, gobble gobble, dirty, yucky, car, ball, blankie, night night, Claire, Adam, Bean, Matt, Papa, Daddy, Ma Ma, apple, meow, ruff ruff, Baxter, light, nose, eye, mouth, Jesus, and his favorite: cookie!

He can now point out where his mouth, nose, eyes, hair, tongue, and ears are when asked. And boy can the kid climb!! He is becoming pretty proficient at throwing and kicking balls. (I think we may have an athlete on our hands.)

It is truly amazing how quickly he is learning and growing. We are continually fascinated with his development. He has started to become very independent and he will let you know what he does and does not want! We are working on teaching him patience, but at 16 months he has a ways to go...but don't we all!?! Our little guy is a lot of fun and we are still loving every minute of him!! :)

Mom and Dad got me this potty a little bit ago and I love to sit on it and play my "video games". They are special for just when I am on the potty. I have not actually gone potty in there yet but I am thinking about it...I do close the lid when I am "all done". Mommy says that is a good thing!

Mom and I headed East to visit all of our extended family. We have been here for four days and have already had a blast. We had a big get together at "GGs" house with alot of aunts, uncles and cousins and then we got to spend the day with Great Papa today. I am looking forward to the rest of the week. This past weekend, my sister Andrea, married a wondeful guy! We are so excited that Matt joined the family. We had such a great time with plenty of fun.

Tyler was such a trooper as he was up by 7:30am, got about a 30 min. nap all day long, was passed from family member to family member, and was STILL going strong until about 10:30pm. He was so well behaved and we are very proud of him. It was great to see all of our family and friends in town and have the opportunity to spend time with them. Visit to Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Carl's House:

A couple of weeks back we had the wonderful opportunity to go spend some time with my Aunt Marilyn and Uncle Carl. It had been way too long since we had the opportunity to catch up and we had a wonderfully relaxing weekend with them in St. Joe's, Michigan. Since Notre Dame was on the way, we decided to take a side trip and visit the campus as well.

We tried to go out on the 42' boat on Saturday, but Lake Michigan was not cooperating...the waves were a little too much, so we went out and turned right back around. Next time we head up there we will spend some good time on the water.

Giraffe Ridge at the Cincinnati Zoo:

Mommy, Daddy, Gammy, and I went to the zoo on a gorgeous Saturday in August - we don't get too many of those. We had so much fun and saw lots of funny animals. The highlight was seeing the giraffes at Giraffe Ridge for our first time.

Checking out the giraffes right before feeding time. The zoo just got a new exhibit where people have the opportunity to feed the giraffes. It was pretty neat.

Well, Tyler has been walking for the past couple of weeks and it has been very fun to watch his improvements and how much more freedom he now has. Tyler continues to brave new adventures such as climbing up slides and Mom and Dad are enjoying watching him develop into a little boy. Hanging outside with all the family for my first birthday party. It was a nice hot day and we had a lot of fun.

It is extremely amazing to believe that Tyler turned 1 yesterday. It feels like he has been a part of our life forever, yet at the same time, it seems like just yesterday we were walking out of the hospital with our new baby boy. So much has happened this year, and just to top it off, Tyler decided to start taking his first steps the day before his birthday! I am trying to catch it on video, but he is really hit or miss right now on when he chooses to walk - crawling is so much more efficient for him at this point. He loves to play "chase" now and will run away from us or try and catch us and he is still climbing up everything he can find. What an awesome little guy we have and we are so excited to watch him grow even more this next year.

It was a great game although the Reds ended up losing 6-4 in the 10th inning. One of Daddy's friends from high school plays for the Red Sox and he hit a home run in the 10th to score the winning run. So it was pretty exciting for him any way.

My Last Day with Maddie:

Rainbow:

A beautiful rainbow that was in the sky when we woke up on Saturday morning. It was a full rainbow that was way too big to capture in just one picture! What a beautiful way to greet the day!

A Trip to a Dairy Farm with Friends:

We got the opportunity to go to a friend's dairy farm in Kentucky and hang out with some friends (and meet some new ones!!).

Meeting a calf that was born that morning. She was very calm, I thought it was a funny looking dog, but Dad told me that it was a baby cow.

After a closer look, I realized that he was right. The cows liked to "moooo".

This calf was looking for some milk to drink, she thought she could get it from my arm. Her tongue was long and black and was really rough, and she had lots of slimy spit!

Mom, Dad, and I won a race leading the cow. Afterwards, I took a victory lap riding on the cow!!

Grandpa's Big Surprise

Grandpa called us on Saturday morning and told us that he had a big surprise for Tyler and that he needed a "truck driver" up in West Alexandria. So, we went up to West Alexandria to surprise Grandma and Grandpa for a visit...and we found Grandpa's big surprise....

A DUMP TRUCK!! The top blue part is a swimming pool and the truck bed is a sandbox.

My first time in the sand...it felt really funny. My feet just sank right in.
When I picked it up in my hands, it just slipped right out.
After awhile, I got the hang of this sand thing and like to fling it around.

Next stop, the pool!! It was such a beautiful day that I put on my swim trunks and my hat and went for a swim!

Baxter liked to help stir up the water with his tongue.

Next it was time to play with Grandpa's glasses. I like to pull them off and eat them!!

After a tough days work, it was time for an orange popsicle. I got to hold it all by myself. It sure was cold, but delicious!! :)

Butterfly Show:

Hanging out at Eden Park Overlook before heading into the Butterfly Show at the Krohn Conservatory. Aunt Gretch had to work the event so she gave us a private tour while we were there. It was a lot of fun.
Mommy caught a butterfly on her hand. For some reason she wouldn't let me touch it, I thought it looked kind of tasty!! We got to see a couple of kids with butterflies on their noses, it was pretty silly.
Checking out the waterfall in Krohn Conservatory. Dad loved this part, he wants to put a waterfall with lots of plants in our house some day. I just liked to look at all of the water falling.

A Trip to the Farm:

Mom and I got to go on a field trip with Adam and Claire to a local farm. I loved to see all of the animals and we even got to take a hay ride. We had a lot of fun.

My First Haircut!!!

Mom and Dad took me to get my very first haircut on Friday. It was really cool because I got to sit in a green race car and watch Barney.
I wasn't really sure what this lady was doing to my hair, but I didn't mind it as long as Barney was on...that was until she took out some noisy thing and was using it on my ears and neck. But at the end I got a really cool red balloon and Mommy got to take home some of my hair.

MMA Bigshow:

Nick and I were able to go with some friends of ours (Brennan and Laura) to watch a few professional MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) fights on Saturday night. Our friend Laura's cousin, Mojo Horne, was fighting in the main event. He was taking on Josh Haynes who competed and was a finalist on the reality show Ultimate Fighter. It was a really cool, standing room only event out at Belterra Casino in Indiana.

Laura and I decided that next go round we should be the ring girls. We were getting our practice in after the event. We plan on wearing our matching "ring girl outfits" next time.

Welcome Joshua Alexander Fallat!!

Mommy holding my new cousin Joshua Alexander. He was really tiny, Mommy said I was once almost that small, but I am not so sure. Joshua weighed 6lbs 2oz when he was born and was almost 20 inches long. He slept the whole time we were there. Aunt Karilyn was doing great and looked fabulous. I am so excited to have a new buddy to hang out with. :)

Spending time with all of the Fallat boys! Chris and Ben are sooo excited that Joshua is finally here. They are such good big brothers.

The elephants were so hot that they decided to splish splash around in the water like I do when I am in the bath tub. They were really funny today spraying each other and playing with the big red ball in the water.

Baxter feels so left out when he is confined to the kitchen. I usually meet up with him at the gate for some kisses!

I got a hold of a lemon from the shrimp plate...
it was quite juicy...
and a little sour...but I loved it!!
Hanging out with Grandpa. This is our favorite position to snuggle in. I had so much fun pulling Grandpa's glasses off of his face and "eating" them, it always makes Grandpa laugh. Although he seems to laugh no matter what I do!! :)
